Gonzaga defeats San Francisco, Sutton

Gonzaga posted its sixth straight win, knocking off San Francisco 72-64 on Monday night and preventing Dons’ interim coach Eddie Sutton from his 800th career win.

The Zags followed a familiar pattern, building a sizable second-half lead, only to see an opponent rally to make it interesting at the finish. That’s happened in GU’s previous three games played in Spokane (Utah, Georgia and San Diego), too.

Click below for my game story and check back in Tuesday morning for a day-after post.
