Zags ahead by three at half
Gonzaga overcame a jittery start, falling behind by as many as eight, to take a 28-25 lead over Santa Clara at halftime in the WCC Tournament semifinals.
Josh Heytvelt hit two 3-pointers and had nine points and Austin Daye chipped in six points and six rebounds.
Gonzaga was slowed by 10 turnovers, but managed to hit 11 of 22 shots (50 percent) and 5 of 11 3s (45.5 percent).
Calvin Johnson led Santa Clara with nine points on 3-of-4 shooting on 3-pointers.
