Eags’ QB fourth in Payton voting

Matt Nichols won’t be among the three finalists attending Thursday night’s The Sports Network’s Award Banquet in Chattanooga, Tenn., where the 2009 Walter Payton Award winner will be announced.

But Eastern Washington’s record-breaking senior quarterback can take some satisfaction in knowing he finished fourth in this year’s voting for the Football Championship Subdivision’s player-of-the-year award.
