Gonzaga joined some select company — including the 2004 and 2006 Zags — as it put the finishing touches on an unblemished WCC season with a 58-47 win over San Diego at the Jenny Craig Pavilion on Saturday. Only three others (Pepperdine in 1982 and 1992, and Loyola Marymount in 1988) have gone unbeaten in conference since the current eight-team alignment in 1981)
The 17th-ranked Bulldogs (23-5, 14-0 WCC) led by as many as 15 in the second half, then turned back a Toreros rally sparked by former Mt. Spokane and CCS guard Matt Dorr’s three 3-pointers. USD closed within seven on Dorr’s last 3, but GU pulled away with Matt Bouldin’s 3-pointer with 2:40 left hiking the lead to 55-43.
Bouldin led Gonzaga with 15 points. Jeremy Pargo had 12, Josh Heytvelt and Micah Downs 11 each.
San Diego (15-15, 6-8) will be the fifth seed in next week’s WCC Tournament.

It was ugly! Congrats on the 14-0. Now, how can a guy (Matt) lead the team in scoring, rebounding and assists tonight, still look like like he just got up from a nap? PLEASE scrap the black Uni’s! It appears the only way to stop Josh from doing so well is just quit throwing him the ball and they did a good job of just that.
Fair to good overall season, excellent WCC season and post season yet to be defined. I’ll say they get a 5-7 seed, sweet 16 and lose first game in sweet 16. Na, that was to easy. How about elite 8 and end up losing by a bad call and turnover! Na, how about Micah scores 21 in the elite 8 to be the star that sends the Zag’s to the FINAL 4. YA, YA, thats the ticket, I’ll go with that one.

Mike, I know you would rather see them in the pink tutu, but the black uniforms make them look tough. I say keep ‘em. My take - they’re going to the sweet 16. They’re looking solid. They’re playing with a lot of patience and confidence. Granted, that’s been against WCC competition, but people are going to count them out early, and I think they will surprise us all.

AG,
It’s my TV and my reception on DISH! They’re all kinda a big blur. I do like the close-ups though! Wait a minute, the “Grump” just asked me…..whats that smear on my glasses? (Wipe.wipe, wipe) Oh ya babe, keep the Black! Wow, I’m back.
Go Zag’s,
