Is there anything better than an Inland Northwest summer? No humidity, bright sunshine, cheap golf. Well, we're taking advantage of all three of those things this morning, so this post will be short. Read on.

• We're finally going to try out Palouse Ridge today, with an eye on giving you an unbiased view of Washington State's course. And, of course, we'll spend time examining the native grasses well off the fairways for you former horticulture majors and review their viability as well. But before we head to the golf links – and the wild – here are a few internet links.
• We had our story about WSU's athletic finances, which appeared on SportsLink last night. The New Tribune ran Howie Stalwick's story, while the Times had this piece. And that might just be the last you hear about money for a while. ... Football, that's another story. We'll delve into the summer workouts and some roster changes later this weekend – maybe even tonight – here, but one piece of news we can pass on concerns recruit Quayshawne Buckley. The incoming freshman tells the San Bernardino Sun he will be grayshirting – coming in next spring – this year while trying to get his SAT score up. ... Finally, this basketball note from ESPN's Andy Katz, who mentions DeAngelo Casto at the bottom of the column.
