WSU, Way ready to take on Arkansas

With the baseball team doing something today it hasn’t done since 1990, that is, playing in the NCAA Tournament, we have stories that will get you ready to listen. Read on.

• If you are in Spokane, you can listen to the game on KXLI, 700-AM, the ESPN station in town. Elsewhere, it will be on the usual WSU stations that carry baseball and will be available online at, which is carrying a webcast. But before the game begins, make sure you check out these stories. … There’s John Blanchette’s column on Bobo Brayton and GU’s Steve Hertz, the last two coaches at the schools to guide their teams to the NCAAs. And Steve Bergum has this advance focusing on the schools’ two Friday night starters. … Bud Withers also has this advance in the Times. … The News Tribune has this short. … Freelancer Howie Stalwick has this story, which ran in the Kitsap Sun and other places. … From Arkansas, there’s this piece in the Northwest Arkansas Times. … That’s about it for baseball news. We’ll be listening to the game ourselves today, seeing if the Cougars will move on in regional play. However, the game we are looking forward to the most is UC Irvine’s big win over defending national champion Fresno State. I’m sure there is a tavern somewhere in Spokane that will be showing it. … Right.

• That’s it for this morning. We’ll be back in the afternoon with more. Until then …
