WSU's loss to UCLA, the day after

One thing I hate about the middle of the month is all the bills for the end start to arrive. Open an envelope, cry a little. One thing I like about Sundays is all the stories from Saturday's games. I'm going to ignore the former and get to the latter. Read on.

• Washington State: Let's get right to the news items. You can read the long versions of my game story and notebook here. There was less to read in the paper – space limitations and all that – so we'll keep you on the blog. ... We also had the statistics, the scoring and my grades in the paper. ... And, finally, there are Chris Anderson's exceptional photos. ... Freelancer Howie Stalwick had this notebook in the Kitsap Sun and a game story in the Olympian. ... The Associated Press story appeared in the News Tribune.

• Around the Pac-10:'s Ted Miller hands out his helmet stickers. ... Washington: When we have a chance, we try to find good columns to read. We found this one. ... Oregon State: The Beavers are two wins away from having a great shot at the Rose Bowl. And remember, they play in Pullman next Saturday. ... Oregon: The Ducks are two wins from a Rose Bowl berth after handling ASU easily. ... California: OK, we can officially give up trying to understand the Bears. ... Stanford: Wow. Another column worth reading. Actually, don't miss this one. ... USC: Pete Carroll's first November defeat comes with a record attached. ...UCLA: It's come to this. The Bruins were able to use players that have never been on a field before. ... The early interceptions set the tone. ... Another game story. ... Arizona State: True freshman Brock Osweiler gets his first start in Eugene and is knocked from the game early. Sound familiar? ... Arizona: Another freaky pass play dooms the Wildcats.

• That's all for this morning. We'll have our look back and follow available for your this evening. Until then …
