Showdown with Weber State next up for Eags

As far as next weekend's Woodward Field showdown between nationally ranked Big Sky Conference powers Weber State and Eastern Washington is concerned, EWU held up its end of the deal on Saturday by thumping Idaho State.

Weber State?

Read on.

No, the 11th-ranked Wildcats, who shared last year's BSC title with Montana, stubbed their collective toe at home against Montana State.  You can read more on that game here, from the Bozeman Chronicle, and here, from the Ogden Standard Examiner.

In addition, I've included this link to the wrapup of Saturday's BSC game, as supplied by the league office.

And you can learn more about 17th-ranked Eastern's 38-3 rout of ISU in this story that ran in Sunday's S-R and this account that was supplied by the Bengals' sport information department.

No matter what happened over the weekend, however, next Saturday WSU-EWU matchup is a big one.  We will get the build-up started later this week with a feature story on Eastern's wideout-turned-defensive end Brynsen Brown.

Stay tuned.
