But they got up and, with a couple good drives and one big play, cut into the Cal lead at the half. ... When given time, Jeff Tuel showed he can throw an accurate, on-time ball. ... The 28 points WSU gave up in the first quarter was the most it has given up to open a game in Paul Wulff's tenure. But Nico Grasu's 24-yard field goal with 2:20 left in that frame was also the first time this season WSU has scored in the first 15 minutes and snapped a nine-game streak dating back to last year. ...
