Long day, short WSU post

COUGARS

Early post because it is travel day. The nice part about living in the Inland Northwest is you always have to go somewhere (in this case, Seattle) before you go somewhere else (in this case, LA). Makes the day just a tad bit longer. Read on.

• Washington State: Not a lot here. How about just my Dwight Tardy story and CougCenter's opponent preview? Sorry, wish there were more good stuff to pass on.

• Around the Pac-10: More here, though. The Oregonian's Ken Goe takes a fun look at the Pac-10. ESPN.com's Ted Miller takes a quick look at the conference's strength at linebacker. ... The San Francisco Chronicle ranks the Pac-10 teams. ... Nick Daschel of Buster Sports picks this week's game. ... Washington: Injuries are taking their toll on the Husky receivers. ... Though he's a bench warmer now, Tavita Pritchard put Stanford on the map, leading the upset of USC. ... Oregon State: The Beavers have found their next great tight end. ... Oregon: The Ducks' linebackers have their hands full this week. ... Cal: Costume changes have an oversized importance against Oregon. ... Stanford: We talked linebackers earlier. Here's one of the conference's better ones. ... USC: Yes, WSU fans, it looks like Taylor Mays will play. And no, the Cougars never catch a break. ...UCLA: So far, so good for Rick Neuheisel. However, let us caution, it's early yet. ... Arizona State: The Sun Devils have had trouble finding good nonconference opponents. ... Arizona: Four weeks into the season, the Wildcats are revamping their offense.

• That's it for this morning. We'll be back sometime today with our game day stuff and preview story. Just can't say exactly when. Until then …
