Shock fall out of rankings

Spokane was ranked No. 6 in the AFL writers preseason poll, but a 74-62 loss to Milwaukee dropped the Shock out of the top 7 (there’s only 15 AFL teams). Milwaukee climbed from No. 7 to No. 2.

Chicago, which defeated Iowa, remained in the top spot. Utah, Spokane’s opponent on Friday, didn’t make the top 7.

Here’s the poll.

Also, Milwaukee landed a couple of the AFL players of the week honors: Quarterback Chris Greisen was the offensive player of the week and Nate Forse was the Ironman of the week. More here.
