Shock up to No. 4

Spokane's win over Bossier-Shreveport vaulted the Shock up to No. 4 in the AFL writers' and coaches' polls. Last week, Spokane was sixth in the writers' rankings and ninth in the coaches' poll.Bossier Shreveport (2-1) slipped to seventh (writers) and a tie for fifth (coaches).

Ex-Chiefs assistant loses job

Edmonton Oil Kings head coach Steve Pleau, a former assistant coach with the Spokane Chiefs (2006-07), was fired Tuesday along with assistant coach Rocky Thompson.
