WSU to meet Mississippi State in Hawaii
COUGARS
Washington State will open the 2010 Diamond Head Classic on Dec. 22 against a somewhat familiar foe, Mississippi State, according to an ESPN press release. The Cougars played MSU in Newark, N.J., in Nov., 2008, defeating the Bulldogs 63-52 in the semifinals of the Legends Classic. This year's game will be televised on ESPNU and begin at noon. Depending on outcomes, WSU will play either the University of San Diego or meet Baylor (for the third consecutive year) in the next round. The other schools in the tourney are Utah, Butler, Florida State and Hawaii. ... The NCAA also released its coaches' APR database today (you can access it here). After perusing it, I don't see any surprises. Paul Wulff's numbers have been good, Ken Bone's from Portland State were below average and the other sports listed (baseball, women's basketball, women's track, indoor and out) are as have been reported. It's just all in one place. For more on this, check out the USA Today story.
