Preps ready for official kickoff

A handful of North Idaho football teams got the jump on the area last weekend, but this week marks the official start of the fall season.

Pictured above is University coach Bill Diedrick, whose Titans open at home Friday against Ferris.

Here's the schedule for Greater Spokane League openers.

Thursday: Central Valley vs. Mt. Spokane at Albi, 6:30 p.m.

Friday: Mead vs. North Central, Albi, 5:30 p.m.; Rogers vs. Lewis and Clark, Albi, 8; Shadle Park at Gonzaga Prep, 7; Ferris at University, 7.

Here's the schedule for Inland Empire League teams.

Friday: Mountain View (Meridian, Idaho) at Lake City (1-0), Moses Lake at Coeur d'Alene (1-0); Colville at Lakeland (0-1); East Valley at Sandpoint; West Valley at Moscow (0-1); Post Falls at Caldwell (0-1); Lewiston at Clarkston, all at 7 p.m.
