The Vandals' final nonconference game before WAC play turned out to be a noteworthy tuneup. Idaho withstood Oregon, 69-65, in the Ducks' final nonconference game at McArthur Court. This was Vandals' first victory over a Pac-10 team since December 4, 2002, when UI beat Washington State under Leonard Perry.
Brandon Wiley led the Vandals with 14 points, six rebounds and five blocks. They also got strong play from their two point guards, Deremy Geiger (nine points) and Landon Tatum (11 points and five rebounds). Idaho is now 6-5 as it heads into its WAC opener, Dec. 29th vs. New Mexico State at Cowan Spectrum. The game will tip at 7 p.m.
