WSU about ready for ASU

COUGARS

We’re a little behind due to the football news (see below). But we’re scrambling to catch up. We’ve got some news and notes prior to the non-televised ASU game. Read on.

••••••••••

• As for the first question you might have, ASU point guard Derek Glasser looks fine in pregame warm-ups, going through the usual Sun Devil stretching routine (which I’ve always felt was the strangest I’ve ever seen). … For your next question, which might have been your first, my guess is Nik Koprivica will start tonight instead of the Abe Lodwick. As far as I know, everyone was on time for everything else this week, so don’t expect any other changes. … Watching practice this week, I believe the Cougars are ready for ASU’s matchup zone. I would not be surprised if WSU gets great looks early on. Whether the Cougars make them, well that’s another story. … I will say Klay Thompson shot the ball as well in practice this week as he has all season. Again, whether that carries over to tonight’s game, who knows? … OK, got to get ready for the game, so no keys tonight. One maybe. Play hard to the final buzzer. Simple, huh? But something that can’t be missing if the Cougars want to finish the Pac-10 with a winning record.

•••••

• That’s all for now. We’ll back at halftime. Until then …
