Key game for Chiefs
A little primer for tonight's big Western Hockey League game in Spokane. The Chiefs face Everett with a chance to tie the Silvertips for the third seed in the Western Division. The Silvertips know tonight's game is critical. If you missed it on the previous post, we featured Chiefs' standout Mitch Wahl. Yesterday's post had Wahl with his surfboard, but we didn't have room for that in today's paper but we had a picture of Mitch and his mother Michele, who moved to Spokane. Top-seeded Tri-City moved five points ahead of Everett and seven up on Spokane with a whippin' of Portland Tuesday night. Portland is one point behind the Chiefs but has played two more games. TC is now on the road for seven, including Friday in Everett and Saturday in Spokane, sent packing because of back-to-back basketball tournamenets in their building. (An interesting note, TC is 7-1 against Portland, Spokane is 2-5 against the Winterhawks and the Chiefs are 6-3 against the Americans.)
