WSU spends extra day on UA

COUGARS

It’s cold in Pullman. Ice – as in what’s all over the cars – cold. Unlike Tucson, where the temperature dipped to what-the-residents-probably-think-is-freezing 41 this morning. That’s where Washington State is headed tomorrow. Today, the Cougars are headed back to practice to get ready for the Wildcats. Read on.

 ••••••••••

• Washington State: The Cougars loss to Oregon lives on, in the form of more discussion. The Times’ Bud Withers had this column today. … If you want to listen to Ken Bone’s press conference, you can here. … Arizona will have one fewer player on the bench Friday. … And, as we had here yesterday, the game time Sunday has been changed.

•••

• Around the Pac-10: The USC news remained the big news, with coach Kevin O’Neill not buying into the sacrifice-basketball, save-football theory. … With no postseason looming, the Trojans will try to keep it together when they visit the Bay Area starting tonight at Stanford. … When UCLA heads into Berkeley tonight, it won’t be the usual Bruin team. And the Bears will be without their sparkplug. … Washington heads on the road knowing it probably has to win at least once in the desert if it wants to defend its Pac-10 title. … Oregon State steps out of conference tonight, hosting Seattle (fixed from earlier).

•••

• That’s it for this morning. We’ll be back this afternoon with the early versions of tomorrow’s print items. Until then …
