Football, basketball news from WSU

The future beckons, as does the interstate. We’re headed down the highway to Tucson this morning, but before we hit the road we have your morning links. There is football, as WSU adds a game for 2012 with a local team, and there is, of course, lots of basketball. Read on.

• Washington State: The football news is simple. We were able to confirm out of WSU yesterday what we learned through an EWU source, that WSU and Eastern Washington would meet in football in 2012. We have a short story (second item). … The Arizona Daily Star had this feature about coach Ken Bone. … The fallout from last Thursday’s technical (has it been a week already?) seems to get deeper. We linked Bud Withers’ Times story last night, now Jim Moore has posted this column on the P-I’s website.

• Around the Pac-10: Speaking of fallout, there is some in Corvallis after Wednesday’s 51-point loss. … Think there will be some bad blood tonight in Tempe? There was between the schools, at least between Venoy Overton and Derek Glasser, last season. … The Sun Devils expect another physical game. … A nice feature on Oregon’s Michael Dunigan. … We started with a football note so we’ll end with one. Former USC starting quarterback Aaron Corp is leaving, headed to the University of Richmond.

• That’s it for this morning. We’ll be back before the game tonight. Until then …
