We're about 20 minutes from tipoff here in the Cowan Spectrum. Louisiana Tech and Idaho square off in crucial early season WAC game. The game is getting started a bit late after the women's game -- UI lost to Fresno State 72-64. A quick reminder: you can follow my in-game Twitter updates @SR_JoshWright.
UPDATE: I just talked to Idaho athletic director Rob Spear between games, and he said "efforts were made" in attempt to keep QBs coach Jonathan Smith. He directed all further questions to coach Robb Akey, who has been out of town and unavailable for comment. Smith took the offensive coordinator job at Montana earlier this week.
Spear also said he and Akey are still working on contract negotiations.
