The countdown to football continues this week, with the Pac-10 unveiling a new look in advance of expansion. The conference has a new video selling itself and a new, easy-to-change logo (upper left on the video link) to brand itself. Read on for more.
• UPDATE: It looks as if the Pac-10 took the video down, because the link, that worked well this morning, is no longer active. It might have been an accidental post, as the conference looks to be launching a new site tomorrow. So you’ll have to check it out then.

• The superficial changes linked above are not as important as the major changes coming in the next week (a media blitz in the East and a big meeting in Los Angeles), month and year to the conference. But, as even a journey of a thousand miles starts with one step, the Pac-10 is headed down a different road now. … We have a couple links for you, including Steve Kelley weighing in on Washington’s recruitment of Josh Shirley, dropped by UCLA after an arrest. There is also a blog post from the Arizona Republic on the quarterback battle at ASU. Other than that, not so much.

• That’s all for now. We’ll be back as events warrant. Until then …
