List of EWU preseason awards keeps growing

With the start of fall practice less than a week away, Eastern Washington University's football team continues to rake in individual preseason awards.  The Eagles, who have been picked to finish second to perennial national power Montana in the Big Sky Conference standings, just had two players -- senior linebacker J.C. Sherritt and junior running back Taiwan Jones named FCS first-team preseason All-Americans by The Sporst Network, with junior defensive end Renard Williams landing a spot on the second team.

Links to that story and several others involving preseason predictions and honors have been provided below.

You can read more about TSN's preseason All-America team here and take a look at how both Big Sky coaches and media members who cover the league see this year's conference race playing out here.

In addition, I've included this link to a story about Sherritt being named to the Buck Buchanan Award watch list, and this link to a similar story about Jones being placed on the Walter Payton Award watch list.

You can read more about Sherritt also being tabbed as the BSC's preseason defensive player of the year and find out who made the preseason all-league team here.

Feel free to leave any comments here.  And if you want to risk making your own predictions about how the Big Sky standings will look at season's end, have at it.

We plan to have a story on the Eagles' first day of practice (Monday, Aug. 9) that will be posted as soon as possible that same day.
