Meyer’s illness brings ‘Z’ on board
An illness to backup quarterback Erik Meyer has led to the Shock signing Brian Zbydniewski.
Meyer isn't expected to make the trip for Saturday's game at Orlando, leaving Spokane without a backup behind Kyle Rowley. Enter Zbydniewski, who was a Shock backup QB in 2006. 'Z' played for af2 Quad-City in 2009 and he lives about 90 minutes from Orlando.
'Z' will serve as the backup Saturday and the Shock anticipate Meyer will be back on the field next week.
