OSU defeats WSU, 59-55

COUGARS

They made it interesting, really interesting, but the WSU Cougar couldn’t overcome their early mistakes Thursday night and fell to Oregon State in a crucial Pac-10 game. WSU fell behind by 18 at the half, 19 early in the second. Then the Cougars started moving the ball quicker, got open looks and started nailing 3-pointers. The main weapon was Klay Thompson, who started shooting like he did earlier in the season. WSU got within one midway through the half but couldn’t get over the hump. Then the Cougars got within one twice in the final minute but couldn’t get a key rebound or foul. The defeat all but sealed WSU’s fate as far as the Wednesday game next week. We’ll be back in about 90 minutes with our game story.
