Gonzaga leads 35-19 at half

If you were looking for Jim's halftime post, this will have to suffice – his Internet connection keeps breaking down. Sort of like Florida State's defense early in this one. ... The Zags broke it down with ball movement and unselfish play. They broke out to a 22-7 lead by attacking the Seminoles' man-to-man off the bounce and with sharp, crisp passes. The Bulldogs first nine baskets came off seven assists – the only two that didn't were a Matt Bouldin steal and transition 5-footer along with a Robert Sacre follow. ... On the other end, FSU struggled to get any consistency against GU's man, but that's been its case all year. What hasn't been the case is the Seminoles couldn't get to the offensive glass. They had just six in the first half, one in the first 13 minutes of the half. GU leads the rebounding battle 22-16. ... And the Seminoles' defense wasn't forcing turnovers for easy points. The Zags had just six turnovers for the half, leading to no points. ... And the Bulldogs got great shots, shooting 52 percent for the half. Remember, FSU has not had a game this year in which the opposition has shot better than 47 percent. ... Elias Harris has 11 points to lead GU, but Bouldin has been the key with three assists and six rebounds. ...The Gonzaga defense – let's say the underrated Gonzaga defense – has limited FSU to 6 of 28 (21.4 percent) from the floor, 1 of 9 from beyond the arc. ... Jim will be back with the end of game post.
