GU season ends in blowout loss

Gonzaga's shooting woes continued in the second half. Syracuse's deadeye shooting continued, too. Just like the first half, it was a bad combination for the Bulldogs.

Andy Rautins scored 11 points in a two-minute flurry early in the second half to blow open the game. Syracuse led by as many as 32 before settling for an 87-65 NCAA Tournament victory at HSBC Arena.

The eighth-seeded Bulldogs finished the season 27-7. Top-seeded Syracuse (30-4) advances to the Sweet 16 where it will face No. 5 Butler.

Gonzaga's Elias Harris finished with 24 points and 8 rebounds. GU was 3 of 21 on 3-pointers.

Wes Johnson and Rautins combined for 53 points and Brandon Triche chipped in 13.

More in a couple hours.
