First Pac-12 basketball schedule unveiled

COUGARS

So the Pac-12 decided to release its first basketball schedule on a holiday (nice). We have Washington State's part of it on the link so read on.
••••••••••

• Don't forget, this is the 2011-12 schedule, the first with Utah and Colorado in the conference. And it is just the Pac-12 part of the schedule. Plus, who knows what will happen between now and when these games are supposed to be played. ...

Sat., Jan. 21: California

Thurs., Jan. 26: at Arizona State

Sat., Jan. 28: at Arizona

Thurs., Feb. 2: USC

Sat., Feb. 4: UCLA

Thurs., Feb. 9: at Oregon State

Sat., Feb. 11: at Oregon

Thurs., Feb. 16: Arizona

Sat., Feb. 18: Arizona State

Sat., March 3: at USC

Wed., March 7: Pac-10 Tournament begins

• A couple thoughts. The conference retained the traveling partner format, though that may go out the window the next year when the new television contract comes into force. ... The four schools WSU plays just once are Cal, Stanford, Utah and Colorado. ... Having to travel to Boulder and Salt Lake City will now be the conference's worst road trip. ... Finishing the conference season in Los Angeles on a Saturday night could mean the Cougars (and the Huskies) may stay in LA until the start of the tournament.

•••

• That's all for now. We'll be back after football. Until then ...
