LC’s Hendricksen headed to Saint Mary’s
Hayley Hendricksen, a 6-foot forward from Lewis and Clark, signed with Saint Mary's Tuesday night.
"It's warm down there," she said after taking her visit to the West Coast Conference school in Moraga, Calif., over the weekend.
Hendricksen, who played her freshman season at Northwest Christian and earned all-league honors, averaged 11.4 points and eight rebounds for LC's state-qualifying team last season. She was MVP of the Jack Blair All-Star game and also had a big summer for the Spokane Stars, who won more than 50 games and lost just once.
"It seemed like a great fit," Hendricksen said. "It was everything I wanted academically, the coaching staff and I like their style of play, it fits what I like to do.
Hendricksen, who wants to study biology for a pre-med degree, also considered Seattle Pacific, Portland, George Fox and Gonzaga.
