Good Wednesday morning. We're in that part of the year where there is still football news – including some from Washington State – as we transition into basketball season. We have both on the link, along with a thank you, so read on.

• Washington State: Let's start with football. Paul Wulff was on the Ian Furness show in Seattle yesterday and talked about his job security. You can listen to the interview here. ... We also had our Pac-10 notebook, looking at the dearth of offense last week. ... WSU assistant director of football operations Mike Kramer is expected to be named Idaho State head football coach any time now. Kramer was the head coach at Eastern Washington, when Paul Wulff was an assistant, and Montana State. The Bengals open their season next year in Pullman. ... Now we can transition to the thank you I owe you folks. I appreciate to feedback to my question from last night. To those of you who follow on Twitter, thanks. This topic sure has a long life. I'll say it again. Until there is legislation to stop it, teams will continue to do it. ... Cal: There is one week a year where you can find stories in the local newspapers about Cal and Stanford every day. This is it. Big Game week. There is a story on Shane Vereen and one on Brock Mansion. ... Stanford: On this side, there is speculation about Andrew Luck's future and another feature. ... USC: Marc Tyler re-emerged last week against Arizona. ... UCLA: The Bruins are trying to get ready for Seattle weather. We're talking about rain, of course. ... Arizona State: Brock Osweiler is getting more reps with the first time this week. ... We're only linking one basketball story because most of the other games were pretty easy victories. That was not the case for ASU. ... Arizona: The Wildcats have a bye.
