Is Moos’ silence bad for WSU’s Wulff?

COUGARS

Though Washington State had a bye Saturday, that doesn't mean the football news took the day off as well. Heck, no. We decided to feature one of WSU's unsung seniors while John Blanchette weighed in on Bill Moos and Paul Wulff. Interested? Read on.

• Washington State: The Cougar basketball team heads to Seattle today to prepare for the Hardwood Classic on Tuesday, when it will host the University of Portland. The Pilots defeated Idaho last night ... What? You don't care? You want to know about Blanchette's column? OK, OK, you got it. And here's my feature on Hannam, the WSU right tackle who has played in as many games up front as anyone in Cougar history. ... And that my friends, is all we've got.

• Around the Pac-10: Got to watch Pac-10 football – other than WSU's game – yesterday for basically the first time all season. Stanford looked like Stanford and Oregon State looked like USC, circa 2006. All in all a good week of football – and picking as we were 3-0 overall and 2-1 against the spread. ... ESPN.com's Ted Miller tells us what we learned from the week and handed out his helmet stickers. ... Jon Wilner updates the bowl picture. ... Washington: Though UW played Thursday, the News Tribune has this nice feature on the Trufant brothers. ... Oregon State: So, do you think Lane Kiffin is wondering what happened to the Beaver team that played last week? A different one showed up in Reser yesterday as OSU thumped USC 36-7. ... Big plays and a big turnaround keyed the win. ... Oregon: Nothing here. ... Cal: Jeff Tedford's Bears showed nothing against their rival. Despite that, they'll still have a bowl berth on the line next week. ... Stanford: The Cardinal laid claim to being the best one-loss team in America with their 48-14 victory at Berkeley. ... Andrew Luck had one of those Heisman moments with his run, though ESPN inexplicable didn't have it as one of Saturday's top plays. ... USC: The Trojans get beat up and beatdown at OSU again. ... UCLA: Nothing available. ... Arizona State: Here either. ... Arizona: What does a bye really mean (appropriate link as so many teams had byes this week).

• That's it for this morning. Well be back after football practice with some notes. Until then ...
