Catching up with the weekend action

After a great game on Sunday, when Gonzaga pushed No. 3 Stanford to the limit before a frenzied sell-out crowd of 6,000 at McCarthey Athletic Center, we'll see if we can catch up with the rest of the weekend. (Bart Rayniak's slideshow from the game.)

Tonight's game is powerful Nebraska at Washington State. Would love to hear a report from anyone who makes the game.

Tennessee won on Sunday; swamping visiting Arizona State, despite little offensive contribution from Angie Bjorklund (U-Hi), who didn't hit a 3-pointer for one of the few times in her career. ... Heidi Heintz (CV) had five rebounds and five assists as UC Davis battled ranked UCLA before losing. ... Jenna Galloway (Ferris) had a career high 21 points on Friday as Northern Arizona defeated North Dakota State.

Redshirt freshman starter Kelsi Jacobson (East Valley) hit 4 of 5 3's for a career-high 12 points as Central Washington beat Dominican U of California 78-61 to go 2-0 in its own tourney. After Thanksgiving off the Wildcats open Great Northwest Athletic League play against Saint Martin's and all it's local players. Freshman Daisy Burke (Lewis and Clark) comes off the bench for Central. ... Junior Jordan Harazin (Colfax) is starting for eighth-ranked Seattle Pacific. ... Senior guard Jennessa Miller, who started 29 of 32 games and led the team in rebounding last year (5.8) as well as scoring 9 points a game, has helped Corban College get off to a 4-0 start by scoring more than 10 points a game. ... Eastern Oregon is off to a 4-1 start with junior Kyle Miller (Cheney) and senior Samatha Flett (Wellpinit) in the starting lineup and senior Alyssa Garro (Pullman) and freshman Nyesha Joseph (U-Hi) coming off the bench. ... Junior guard Kandice McArthur (Post Falls) is starting for Pacific (Ore.) and leading in rebounds (8.5) after two games. ... Alyssa Green (Mead) had 23 points in 16 minutes (foul trouble) as Carroll College beat Holy Names 77-62 on Saturday. Green is averaging 15.4 points for the 9-2 Saints. Cassie Scheffelmaier, a senior from Harrison, Idaho, averages 4.5 off the bench. ... Lewis-Clark State is 6-0, ranked 11th in NAIA. The Warriors won their own tourney with a 74-60 win over Cal Baptist.
