Prior to his professional career, Alston attended the University of Toledo and was named first team All-MAC as a junior and a senior. In his career as a Rocket, Alston finished with 184 total tackles, 36.5 tackles for loss and 20.5 career sacks (including a team-high seven as a senior).

“He has all the physical tools to be great – he has a high motor, he’s is willing to do whatever it takes to the get to the quarterback and he understands the game of Arena Football,” Head Coach Rob Keefe explained. “We are expecting him to contribute in a major way on our defense and we are excited to see him.”

Alston is the 25th player added to the Shock’s 2011 roster.
