FOOTBALL: Greater Spokane League-leading Ferris (6-0) takes on ever-improving Mead (4-2) in the second game of a doubleheader Friday at 8 at Albi Stadium. Mead must win to stay in the hunt for one of the three 4A state playoff berths.

In a single game Thursday, University (2-4), which took a big step toward securing the second 3A state playoff berth last week, meets Rogers (0-6) at Albi, 6:30. In the first game Friday at Albi, Mt. Spokane (5-1), which has locked up the top 3A state playoff berth, takes on Lewis and Clark (3-3) at 5:30. LC is mathematically still alive for a 4A playoff berth but needs to win out.
