Busy week in prep sports

Click the tab below for a quick look at what's on tap this week in high school sports.

FOOTBALL: Greater Spokane League teams conclude conference play, highlighted by the big showdown at Albi Stadium featuring Ferris (8-0) and Gonzaga Prep (7-1) on Friday. The game will determine the top 4A play-in seeds and possibly the league championship.

Over in Coeur d'Alene, co-league leaders Coeur d'Alene (7-1, 2-0) and Lake City (6-2, 2-0) square off at Viking Stadium on Friday. The winner will host a rematch the following week in the first round of the state playoffs.

IDAHO STATE VOLLEYBALL: All of the state tournaments will be held in the Twin Falls area, beginning Friday. Check out our Thursday newspaper to see a preview of the tournaments.

IDAHO STATE CROSS COUNTRY: All of the state meets will be held Saturday at Kelly Park in Soda Springs. Coeur d'Alene senior Kinsey Gomez is heavily favored to win a third state championship, and the CdA boys, second a year ago, are expected to fare well.
