All-Area teams

For years I’ve done All-North Idaho teams for football, boys and girls basketball, volleyball, soccer and wrestling. And we’ll continue to do those. It’s like a franchise that we’ve owned and the coaches have bought into it, too. It’s a step above all-league but a step below all-state if you know what I mean. A great honor for the athletes. Participation has been fabulous.

I got to thinking, though - and that’s always dangerous when a sports writer starts thinking. What if there were All-Area teams for the Inland Northwest. Who would be candidates in football, volleyball, etc.

Give it some thought and tell us who would be on those teams and why. For example, is Bishop Sankey not the best running back in the region if not the state of Washington? Who’s the best quarterback - regardless of classification or league? Let me know.
