The Spokane Shock will open defense of their ArenaBowl championship on the road against the San Jose SaberCats on Friday, March 11.
The Arena Football League’s 18-game 2011 schedule was released Wednesday. Spokane’s first home game will be against Cleveland on Saturday, March 19. The Shock will play West Division rivals San Jose, Arizona and Utah twice. They face single games against 12 other AFL foes, missing only Milwaukee and Georgia.
Other highlights include a date with Pittsburgh and former Shock head coach Chris Siegfried on Saturday, May 7; an ArenaBowl XXIII rematch with Tampa Bay, on Friday, May 20, in Spokane; 2008 AFL champ Philadelphia at Spokane on Friday, June 10; and the regular-season finale at Jacksonville on Friday, July 22.
Spokane will have byes in Week 5 and 13.
