Two Vandals honored by WAC

Coming off a 30-7 rout of UNLV, the University of Idaho picked up two individual WAC honors on Monday. Defensive end Aaron Lavarias was named the top defensive player in the league and place-kicker Trey Farquhar was named special teams player of the week. Colin Kaepernick of Nevada won the offensive player of the week award.

Meanwhile, Vandals coach Robb Akey said he expects to have defensive tackle Jonah Sataraka and guard Tevita Halaholo back this week at Colorado State (1 p.m. Saturday). Sataraka missed the UNLV game due to illness.

Akey, a native of Colorado Springs, will have about 40 family and friends at the game in Fort Collins. We'll have more comments from the coach later.
