Well, the beer garden is full. The stands, not so much. But there is almost an hour before Washington State's spring game begins. There are a few people staking out spots, including yours truly (those are in the press box). We have some thoughts, so read on.
• The players have headed to the locker room to get suited up and should be coming down the ramp to the field. Just like some of them did as prep players – in case you don't know, Joe Albi is the home field for Spokane and Mead's high schools. Looking at the rosters, there are a couple notable things to share. The Crimson group is basically the starters and some key backups. ... Jeff Tuel is the only quarterback listed with that group. The (healthy) running backs are Rickey Galvin and Logwone Mitz (Carl Winston and Jared Byers, both of whom are out with knee injuries, are also listed with this group). ... On the offensive line, both Andrew Roxas and Taylor Meighen are in Crimson. ... On the defensive side, there are seven defensive linemen listed, but four of them are out for sure (Travis Long, Jordan Pu'u Robinson, Brandon Rankin and Toni Pole) and Skylar Stormo sprained his ankle Thursday, though Stormo was walking better today. My guess is a couple of players will move over from the Gray group. ... Mike Ledgerwood is the middle linebacker with the Crimson, while C.J. Mizell is with the Gray. By the way, the Gray is wearing white. ... I don't thin there are any other surprises with the lineups.
