Green making her mark in Montana

Under the radar is a good description for Alysha Green but the Mead grad has made her mark in college basketball. She's the subject for the weekly basketball notebook. For a couple of other notes, including some that ended up on the cutting room floor, read on.

Carroll College is going to play in Spokane. When Walla Walla cancelled a game with the Saints as well as a game with LaSierra out of California, they set up to play in Spokane so Green could have a homecoming.

It's awesome," Green said. "She's so great with stuff like that. To get back home ... I always thought it would be fun. Whitworth is two seconds from my house."

Former Gonzaga star Courtney Vandersloot is a finalist for a big honor on the west side of the state.

Fast fact: This didn't get in, from Gonzaga's game with USC or the notebook. Both USC and Gonzaga used just eight players in the game the Trojans won 58-51 on Sunday. Of the USC players to hit the floor, seven were McDonald's All-Americans in high school and the other was a WBCA All-American. The corresponding number for the Bulldogs: 0.

The rundown for games (or releases that are available).

Eastern at Gonzaga (Friday) before Eastern Oregon visits (Monday).

Montana at Gonzaga (Sunday)

Carroll at Idaho (Thursday)

UC Riverside at Washington State
