GU, Butler square off at McCarthey

Gonzaga's arduous non-conference slate continues Tuesday night when Butler, which has played and lost in the last two NCAA title games, visits the MAC.

Butler is an enjoyable team to watch -- I recall the Bulldogs drilling seemingly 10 3s a night while winning the Great Alaska Shootout several years ago. A fitting description of Butler's team dynamic and successful system can be found on page 4 of the school's release. There you can find the Horizon League preseason poll and first- and second-team selections. Detroit has three first-team selections, including player of the year Ray McCallum. Butler has no first teamers and Andrew Smith on the second team, yet the Bulldogs are picked to win the Horizon title.

Here's a link to my game preview.
