A Super Sunday for WSU

COUGARS

With everyone focused on the Super Bowl yesterday, and I can think fondly of one life-long Packer fan (and that means almost 60 years) who I sincerely hope had a great day yesterday, there is little to pass along concerning Washington State in particular and the Pac-10 in general. But there is some. Actually, some fun Cougar news, so read on.

••••••••••

• Washington State: If you were able to see the Cougar commercial during the Super Bowl telecast, lucky you. I never saw it run, though the commercials didn't hold their usual interest for me this season. Anyhow, we're not going to let you miss it, or the website it was tied into. It's all part of a new fund-raising strategy within the athletic department under AD Bill Moos. It may not be a Times Square billboard, but it's getting closer. ... Some thoughts about the idea from CougCenter and the WSU Football Blog. ... And that's it out of Pullman today.

•••

• Around the Pac-10: How did Arizona pull out that triple-overtime game Saturday? Here are 10 reasons. ... The hottest team in the conference right now might be Oregon, which probably means the Ducks go to Los Angeles and drop both games. Such is the strange nature of this year's play.

•••

• That's it for this morning. If news warrants, we'll be back. If not, see you tomorrow morning. Until then ...
