LMU’s Good hoping for better finish

Good evening. I talked to Loyola Marymount coach Max Good this morning, then went to GU's media day this afternoon. I put together a notebook, mainly from my conversation with the always candid Lions coach, that will run in Wednesday's S-R. There's also an item on Pepperdine's Keion Bell, who has been suspended for the rest of the season.

Good has suffered through two injury plagued seasons and his biggest concern at present is junior forward Drew Viney, who missed Saturday's loss to Saint Mary's with a migraine. Good was in good spirits, near the end of the interview offering, "I'm really looking forward to seeing (Gonzaga coach) Mark (Few), I really like Mark. I'm not looking forward to seeing Sacre and Harris and Gray. If you talk to him, would you mention that I would rather not see his studs."

GU visits LMU on Thursday and Pepperdine on Saturday.

Here's a link to my article. Elsewhere, Gonzaga made a ESPN.com's Pat Forde's list of college basketball underachievers (along with a number of GU's non-conference opponents) and Saint Mary's Mickey McConnell is one of 10 finalists for the Cousy Award.
