Zags clinch at least share of WCC title

Gonzaga throttled San Diego 68-31 on Saturday night at the Jenny Craig Pavilion, locking up at least a share of its 11th consecutive WCC title, the second longest streak in NCAA Division I history. UCLA holds the top spot with a 13-year run from 1967-79.

Saint Mary's, which tips off against Portland at 8 p.m., must win to share the conference title with Gonzaga.

This one was over early. San Diego scored on Chris Manresa's dunk on its first possession. The Toreros didn't score again for more than nine minutes. Elias Harris scored 15 points in the first half as GU took a 37-19 lead.

Gonzaga outscored USD 17-3 to open the second half. San Diego didn't make a field goal until 12:26 remained.

Harris finished with 17 points and Sacre 16.
