Pirates get bye, second-round home game

Whitworth University, after claiming its fifth consecutive Northwest Conference men's basketball crown with a 74-50 win over Whitman in Saturday night's NWC title game, has been awarded a first-round bye and a second-round home game -- to be played at 7 p.m. this Saturday -- by the selection committe of the NCAA Division III Tournament.
