WSU has little time to get ready for USC

COUGARS

It's a short week in Pullman, in the sense the USC game looms just a couple days away. With that in mind, we don't want to waste any of your time, so let's get right to it. Read on.

••••••••••

• Washington State: Not a lot this morning on the heels of Sunday's win over Washington, but we have a couple things to pass along. ... The Times' Bud Withers looks at the standings and sees another matchup between UW and WSU in the Pac-10 tourney's first round. I look at the standings and see the 8:30 game. I'm afraid, very afraid. ... Jim Moore, who was sitting behind me Sunday night and had to deal with the reflection off the top of my head, thinks WSU's win was the best he's ever seen. ... CougCenter examines the Cougars and says they are who they are. ... And that's it.

•••

• Around the Pac-10: The Huskies are deep in self-evaluation mode this morning, with the Times' Steve Kelley saying they need to run more and Dave Boling in the News Tribune talks about their lack of aggressiveness. Whatever, UW is still probably headed to the NCAA tournament and there's lots of work going on in Montlake. ... Bob Clark looks around the Pac-10 and sees USC's game in Pullman on Thursday as the biggest of the night. ... Despite having a group of walk-ons with great bloodlines, despite being on a roll lately and despite some big non-conference wins, UCLA just can't get ranked. ... Arizona looks to beef up its facilities and its players.

•••

• That's all for us this morning. We'll be back following coach Ken Bone's conference call. Until then ...
