The Colfax boys and Colton girls are among the first four teams to start their quest for a state title in the 9 a.m. games.
Colfax plays Adna in the first game of the boys 2B bracket, and an early shaky start has them down 7-4 in the first quarter.
The Colton girls, meanwhile, have started on an 8-3 run against Neah Bay in State 1B action.
COLFAX VS. ADNA
Adna 12, Colfax 8 through one quarter
Adna junior Nate Trotter leads all scorers through one quarter with six points as athe Pirates carry a four-point advantage into the second quarter, leading 12-8 over the Colfax Bulldogs. . J.J. Robinson leads the way for Colfax with four points.
Alex Teade drains a 3-pointer with 2:25 left in the half to push Colfax's lead to eight 23-15. Since trailing 14-12, the Bulldogs have been on an 11-1 run. Robinson and Justin Berarducci have a combined 13 points to lead Colfax.
Colfax 25, Adna 19 halftime
Robinson has a game-high nine points at the break to lead the Bulldogs, who outscored Adna 17-7 to take a six-point lead into halftime. The Pirates are paced by Trotter's seven points, but a cold streak in the middle of the frame left the Pirates staring at a deficit with the second half still yet to play.

Adna scores seven quick points to cut the Colfax lead to one at 29-28. Trotter has four early points and Konnor Moon's 3-pointer made it a one-point game.
Colfax 37, Adna 31 through three quarters
Colfax recovers following a timeout, building a 37-31 lead that holds to the end of the third quarter. Berarducci, Gfeller and Robinson each have 11 points, combining for all but four of the Bulldogs' points thus far.
The Pirates have trimmed the lead to two, but with 17 seconds left, Robinson batted the ball away from Coulsen Kohler and Berarducci came up with the steal. Fouled with 9.2 seconds remaining Gfeller hits the first of two free throws, prompting a time out by Adna's bench. A made free throw by Gfeller after the timeout will mean a two-possesion game.
Gfeller hits the free throw giving the Bulldogs a 45-41 lead with 9.2 seconds left. A made 3-pointer by Adna's Tyler Dotson ends the contest, leaving the Pirates short of the win. Colfax moves on to the next round playing the winner of the 10:30 game between Northwest Christian and La Conner.

COLTON VS. NEAH BAY
Colton 16, Neah Bay 14 through one quarter
Rebecca Thompson cuts Colton's lead to two on a desperation 3-point heave in the closing seconds of the first quarter. The Wildcats led 16-11 in the waning seconds, but Thompson's shot from the top of the key banked home to make it a 16-14 Colton advantage through one quarter.
The Wildcats start the second quarter on a 9-2 run to build a nine-point lead. Haley Moser has led the way in the second quarter, hitting a 3-pointer for the first bucket of the period.
The Red Devils are on the ropes early as Colton has started one of its trademark scoring runs to take a 16-point lead with 2:04 left in the first half. The run promped a time-out, but it has only extended the lead as Colton has a 39-19 lead with 57 seconds left.
Colton 39, Neah Bay 19 halftime
McKenzie Heaslet's 10 points lead the Wildcats, who hled Neah Bay to 29.4 percent shooting in the opening two quarters. Moser added eight points and Mollie Kramer chipped in eight points and seven rebounds for the Wildcats. Neah Bay's leading scorer is Thompson with nine points.
Neah Bay just digs a deeper hole to start the second half, as Colton scores 10 of the half's first 11 points to take a 29-point lead.
Colton 53, Neah Bay 26 through three quarters
The Red Devils had a brief run in the third, scoring six consecutive points, but that quickly went by the wayside, as the Wildcats closed the last four minutes of the quarter on a 4-0 run. Colton looks well on its way to advancing witha 27-point lead and only eight minutes to go.
The Wildcats finish the game holding Neah Bay to just 26.2 percent shooting in the game, forcing 25 turnovers. McKenzie Heaslet continued to be strong down low with 17 points and five rebounds.
