WSU, OSU have a history

COUGARS

As promised, my advance of tomorrow's NIT game is available. So we put together a quick post for you. Read on.

••••••••••

• Before we go on, here is the story. I know 2004 is basically ancient history for a 2011 group, but it is the one time Oklahoma State and Washington State have played in basketball. And the futility of that night has been passed on from generation of player to the next. So it's probably worth talking about a bit. But what is more pertinent is how both teams are playing now. We'll go into that a little more tomorrow, but there is one statistic I want to point out and you can ponder. The Cowboys are shooting 29.8 percent from the arc, which ranks them ... well, they are not ranked by the NCAA because they haven't made the requisite five per game (they are averaging just 4.03 made per game). If they were ranked, they would be in the bottom 5 percent, as only 10 of the 286 teams the NCAA does rank with a worse percentage.

• That's it for now. We'll be back in the morning. Until then ...
