WSU’s Casto won’t play vs. Northwestern

We're off the football field and back inside, finally with some time to put together a post on the basketball happenings today. Read on.

• I don't know how many of you follow me on Twitter at vinceg55, but on a day like today, it's how I get the news out. As soon as we posted our story on DeAngelo Casto's suspension, we tweeted out the link. That's something we can do on the football field while covering spring practice. Writing a blog post like this, that takes sitting at a computer. … The Casto story speaks for itself. It would be premature for me to say the junior from Spokane is the third basketball player this year WSU has had cited for a marijuana-related incident, because he has not been as yet. But there is a reason why he was suspended indefinitely, which assures he will not play Wednesday night against Northwestern, and we did our best to ascertain the reason behind it. … As for the game, we put together most of this advance prior to the Casto news. We did, of course, meld the Casto news into it. … By the way, don't miss this YouTube video. A 2012 Academy Award winner for sure. Actually, it's about one of WSU's basketball managers. … Here is how some Northwestern fans learned about WSU. … OK, we have to get back to our football story.

• That's it for now. We'll be back with a football post soon. Until then …
