Pregame musings from WSU

It's pregame time. As I thought about it, I'm not sure there is more to add to the post I put up a few hours ago. But, because I get paid by the word, we have something. Read on.

• Just kidding. I wish I were paid by the word. No, it's by the grammatical error. I will be retiring tomorrow. ... A couple of pregame notes. About a third or more of the student section gave DeAngelo Casto a standing ovation when he entered the arena. No comment – though I am thinking a few – just a fact stated for your interest. ... Talked with Jeff Hironaka before the game and traded tales of lack of sleep recently. He wins. Hiro has been up for all but a few hours since Monday night's game preparing the scout for tonight's contest. Hiro's Seattle Pacific teams ran a Princeton-style offense very similar to Northwestern's. ... There is actually a Northwestern section here in Beasley. As of right now it consists of about a dozen purple-shirted fans and two Northwestern banners. But they are vocal. ... A couple fans just held up a sign disparaging the Pullman police. It lasted about 30 seconds before two ushers grabbed it and crumpled it up. ... Even Northwestern's weight coach or trainer who leads stretching looks nerd, er, intelligent.

• That's it for now. We will be back at halftime and on Twitter at vinceg55. Until then ...
