Buildup continues for Sweet 16

Boy, did this day get away from me. Writing a basketball story, hockey story and getting a handle on a track story for next week. I can't think any more. Time to go surfing.

Plenty of attention in Spokane for the NCAA Women's tournament. The Sweet 16 at the Arena on Saturday with links to the school releases as available. Both games on ESPN2:

6 p.m. - No. 11 Gonzaga (30-4) vs No. 7 Louisville (22-12)

8:30 - No. 5 North Carolina (28-8) vs. No. 1 Stanford (31-2)

Read on for what else I stumbled into.

ESPNW has an entertaining story with Gonzaga coach Kelly Graves, courtesy of LeftCoastHoops and Michelle Smith, who will be writing from the Arena this week.

Graham Hays and Michelle Voepel breakdown the four regions on ESPN.com. Then Hays looks at the point guards in all eight Sweet 16 games.

Our friendly neighborhood free-lancer put out a piece on Gonzaga attendance. And Tim Booth of AP took a stroll in Spokane, walking from McCarthey to the Arena.

Something to read on Ohio State before the game with TEnnessee and Angie Bjorklund (U-Hi) at 9 a.m. on Saturday. (By the way, when you get to the Knoxville newspaper site, you might considering poking around the coverage of the men's program, the fall of Bruce Pearl and the search for a new coach. I leave the comments for you.)

How pathetic am I, so wrapped up I forgot what is going on. Gotta go, it's halftime of the men's games.
